Yoga is About Balance

Yoga isn't always about the postures, the poses themselves. Yoga is more than that... It is about finding balance in every day life. A balance between the good and the bad. I have some terrible road rage. But I work to be friendly in every other aspect of life. I am lazy and enjoy my rest. But I work hard. It is always about the balance. Even when doing the poses they are used to balance both sides of the body. When we find our lives off balance it is more difficult to appreciate the little things. We fall into turmoil and depression and anxiety. And sometimes, if you are like me, your physical yoga practice suffers. In those times I have to remind myself that yoga can be done in other ways. When I tend my garden and take time to admire it, I am practicing yoga. When I take time to respect nature, I am practicing yoga. When I take time to smile at someone, I am practicing yoga. BLM Movement

I’ve never watched The Help,  until now.  I was aware of it. I knew of the story. I knew of the white privilege it illustrated in the 2 ½ hours of screen time. The entitlement white people felt they had over another race during those times. Racism didn’t begin with Hitler, it didn’t begin with the colonialists who founded our land, we could say it began in biblical ages when the Egyptians used the Israelites as slaves, but it needs to end now.  If there is one thing I have learned from the BLM Movement is that there are a lot of under educated people out there and they are all stuck in a cycle. Most beliefs and ways of thinking are passed down from generation to generation and now more than ever we have people breaking those cycles, but we need more. We need more people willing to stand up and speak out against racism saying this isn’t right. All Humans Are Enough! This can begin with our schools, across America. Annoyed at Home

Have you ever been annoyed to the point where that annoyance is about to ruin your whole day? You’re in the middle of doing something, you’ve got a good system going and you are getting things done, but then all of a sudden something disrupts the perfectly good flow you’ve got going. Or maybe something unexpected happens and you have to drop what you are doing to take care of that something… And with everyone staying home, tensions can be even higher. I have definitely felt annoyance's pestering manner creeping into my perfectly planned out day. I especially feel it if that annoyance comes at a time when I do not want to be bothered. As a writer and a person who enjoys their privacy and the quiet one little annoyance can disturb the equilibrium I create for myself when I am alone or trying to work.
